Clear lens extraction or refractive lens exchange is gaining interest, in parallel with the progress of intraocular lenses and with the improvement of refractive precision of intraocular surgery. We will give an overview its recent indications/contraindications through its safety issues, of the results obtained with multifocal or EDOF lenses, and finally to discuss current and future alternatives according to patient cases.
